We can help.
PRIVATE GP
Friendly, experienced GP appointments: in person, or video appointments from the comfort of your own home.
We treat a range of chronic and acute medical problems with options for 20, 30 or 45 minute appointments.
The fee includes: referral letters, issuing of private prescriptions, fit notes & a summary to your GP.
MENOPAUSE
Are you having symptoms that you think may be related to hormones & wondering if you need HRT?
Are you taking HRT but not sure if it is optimised & wonder if you need to change it?
Are you taking HRT & wondering whether to stop taking it?
Are you wondering if testosterone may help your symptoms?
We can help. Dr Kemp is an accredited British Menopause Society advanced menopause specialist who focuses on personalised treatment plans, backed by evidence based medicine.
Continuity of care & ongoing support is important to us, so our menopause package includes an initial consultation (45 minutes), one follow up consultations (20 minutes) after 3 months and an email query.
MOLE CHECKS
Do you need your moles checking?
Are you concerned about a changing mole?
Have you got several moles that are difficult to see and you would like to keep an eye on?
We offer mole screening and mapping. We use a dermatoscope to look very closely at the skin. The dermatoscope provides a clearer magnified image that enables us to see the details of the skin structure, so we can confidently exclude skin cancer. The images get assessed by two doctors. If the mole is suspicious for a skin cancer or if we cannot confidently exclude a skin cancer then we would advise referral to a dermatologist for further assessment.
This can be through the NHS by sharing the notes and requesting an NHS referral from your NHS GP, or by referring to a private dermatology specialist of your choice.

About us
Dr Lorraine Kemp MBBS BSc MRCGP is a friendly and approachable GP working within the NHS and private sectors. Dr Kemp has over 17 years of experience. Her recent roles have included being Clinical Lead for a local district general hospital’s Urgent Treatment Centre, and working for four years as an online private GP for a leading private medical insurer. She continues to work in the NHS as a GP in the community, at the hospital and also working alongside her paramedic colleagues in the 999 service; assisting in patient pathways with the crews on scene.
Her medical degree and bachelor of science (gastroenterology) were awarded from Imperial College London in 2008. Her prestigious postgraduate training was in Emergency Medicine in London and General Practice in London and East Kent. She has been running a successful private aesthetic medicine clinic since 2018. In this role her clients spoke often about their menopause, and she realised the inequalities in menopause care they suffered. She then undertook training as a menopause specialist with the British Menopause Society & holds regular NHS menopause clinics.
Dr Kemp has expertise in menopause, skin care including mole checking, urgent and emergency care. Dr Kemp has a holistic and patient centered approach, as well as the time and expertise to support you. Whether you need a GP appointment for medical advice or treatment, or help navigating your peri-menopause or menopause.
She can help you with a bespoke personalised treatment plan using evidence based medicine. She wants to help you feel empowered and involved in your medical care: Dr Kemp takes time to really listen to what matters, so she can tailor the best plan for you. It is important to have continuity of care, so she can also write to your NHS GP after your consultation.

We can write a private prescription if it is appropriate. You will either be emailed a code that can be used in the pharmacy of your choice using SignatureRx or have your medicines delivered directly to you via Pharmacierge. The prescription is issued as part of the consultation fee. The pharmacist will charge you for the private prescription medicine cost and this is not available through NHS prepayment cards. Our prescribing policy has your safety in mind, so please do check it before booking to ensure we can help you. In particular we will not be able to prescribe controlled drugs in most circumstances.
There is a cost at the pharmacy for private prescriptions. Any repeat prescriptions outside of the consultation have a charge of £30 plus the pharmacy cost of the medication. This service is only available for registered patients who have had a consultation within 12 months.
If you prefer an NHS prescription we can write to your NHS GP with our treatment recommendations. NHS prescriptions for HRT are best paid for with a prescription prepayment card. Please see the link: https://www.gov.uk/get-a-ppc/hrt-ppc

We prescribe regulated Body Identical HRT (sometimes called regulated Bio Identical HRT). This is made from plants and is identical in structure to the hormones of the body. All the hormone treatments that we prescribe are regulated and licensed so we know that they are safe and effective. We do not prescribe compounded Bioidentical hormones which are not regulated and are not recommended by the British Menopause Society.

Most private medical insurance companies do not cover private GP appointments so it is best to check directly with your insurer first. You would need to pay for your use of our services, and potentially claim back from the insurer but please check as we are not in contact with your insurer. You may have cover for onwards referrals and investigations requested by us.

Absolutely. Children under the age of 16 will need a parent present during the appointment. We are happy to assess children online, but please be aware if they are acutely unwell with febrile illnesses or signs of dehydration then we will suggest they are assessed face to face by seeing your NHS GP or contacting 111. This service should not be in place of a face to face assessment for unwell children as they do often require thorough examination.

No, it is definitely best to stay registered or register with an NHS GP as there may be referrals or examinations best processed through the NHS. You can stay registered and I can send a copy of your consultation to your NHS GP.
